Sappy

Sometimes these moments just hit me. Out of the blue, just overwhelm me. The thought of my family takes my breath away.

We are in a crazy season. I am pretty sure over the past two months we have averaged a 2+ hour car trip every 3 days. That is hard on an adult, but it is even worse for a 10 month old who hates to sit still and hates his car seat for all but 30 minutes somewhere in the middle when he takes a nap.

What a trooper D has been, well and W for putting up with my "i can't do this anymore" moments that happen all too often, at the wrong time, when bar studies are happening.

   Back to the point, this season (just as all of our patience-testing moments) has made me even more thankful for my family and what truly matters in life.

 Yes, of course I want and enjoy the finer things in life but not before a good ole belly laugh from D or those moments with W when we just look at each other and laugh as a reminder that this life on the run isn't permanent.

Life is busy but we'll get through it together.

Davis' personality is shining through and boy is he going to be (continue to be) a handful! He is so curious and doesn't stop moving. He loves to laugh, but still knows how to pitch a fit. We're trying to set boundaries but we all have a hard time holding our ground. He knows how much we love kisses from him and he uses it to his advantage. We just can't help it, our world revolves around him. Happy 10 months, sweet boy.

Fresh Start

Here we go...again.

I'm not going to try and catch up, but I am going to try and keep up from now on. I constantly regret not keeping up with the blog for the purposes of remembering these special times in our lives with our first born.

We are back and forth between three cities for the summer W is studying for the bar. We're either in Charlotte trying to figure out renovations with the new house, in Oak Island soaking up the sunshine and time with my parents, or in Greenville for work obligations and time with W's parents. I will say it again and again, I don't know how we would be doing all of this without our parents. They are our daycare and our support system. Four of the most selfless people you will ever meet. Our gratitude is far beyond words. When I think of how we will repay them, my mind gives up because there is truly no way to properly thank them and show them our appreciation. (Maybe smiles and laughs from D will be a good start.)

After spending time in Greenville last week and a little bit of time in Charlotte, we headed for Oak Island last weekend and plan to stay put for at least two weeks. We have taken D out to the beach a few times and he has neutral feelings. He does LOVE the pool though.

Loves the pool {9 1/2 months}
Tolerates the beach {9 1/2 months}
